What Is The TRON Decentralized Ecosystem?

TRON is a decentralized blockchain network founded by Chinese cryptocurrency entrepreneur and businessman, Justin Sun. The network was successfully launched in July 2017. The cryptocurrency used on the TRON independent blockchain network is Tronix, or TRX.

The TRON blockchain uses a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus model for on-chain validation and authentication measures. TRON specializes in entertainment, and seeks to offer a cost-effective network whereby all forms of digital content can be shared. The network made a significant move in 2018 when the Foundation purchased popular P2P file sharing platform Bittorrent for $140 million.

The TRON ecosystem was relatively busy in the month of July. The TRX network token saw significant rebounds in its price, and positive TRON ecosystem news also surfaced. On the 26th of July TRON DAO announced three new grants which will go to support further growth of the network and expansion of the TRON ecosystem.

The grants will be awarded to three different categories of individuals who are actively engaged in the TRON decentralized ecosystem. In total, $165,000 per quarter will be unevenly distributed between TRON Influencers, TRON Developers and TRON DAO Community Ambassadors.

How Funds From The New TRON Grant Programs Are Distributed

The $165,000 quarterly distribution will be split between the three, with the first being Community Ambassadors. Community Ambassadors are individuals referred to as TRON DAO family and friends. The individual criteria set forth states the individual must be knowledgeable, and active in the TRON DAO community. The grant will fund individuals who have established online communities on platforms such as Discord or Telegram. These individuals will be expected to engage their communities with TRON ecosystem news and information.

As released in the details of the grant criteria, the individuals must possess a documented history of interacting within the TRON DAO community and be in genuine support of TRON DAO and community objectives. The selected Community Ambassadors allocation is $30,000 quarterly.

TRON Developer Grant Specifications

The next group to receive a grant from the new initiative is the TRON Developer community. This group is composed of TRON Developers who have demonstrated technical understanding of TRON, referenced by an established Proof of Concept project.

Other criteria needed to qualify for the grant include a sustained history of consistent development work, a keen understanding of the TRON ecosystem and genuine support of the DAO and community objectives. The total allocation for this grant is $90,000 quarterly devoted to developing the TRON ecosystem use cases specifically.

TRON Influencer Grant Specifications

The final group which was chosen for the three part grant initiative by the TRON DAO, is the TRON Influencer group, which is made up of Influencers currently working on TRON DAO-related projects and outreach only. Upon meeting this requirement and other criteria outlined in the TRON ecosystem news release detailing grant particulars, individuals are able to apply for the $45,000 quarterly grant.

The new three-part grant initiative by the TRON ecosystem could have added some returned excitement to the DAO and token community holders in the month of July. TRX holders and TRON DAO supporters hope to see the growth continue into August.
